Launch your career in industrial robotics and automation through R&E’s Automation Mentorship Program (AMP).

Unlike traditional education programs, AMP focuses on practical experience. Students learn using the same industrial equipment, software, and manufacturing processes found in today’s production facilities, allowing them to develop the skills employers need from day one.

Graduates leave the program with real-world experience in automation technologies and are prepared to begin their careers supporting manufacturing operations across North America.

Program Highlights

  • 20-week paid training program
  • No prior automation experience required
  • Hands-on learning with industrial equipment
  • One-on-one mentorship
  • Career opportunities with R&E’s Robotics Field Service team

Why AMP?

Manufacturers continue to invest heavily in automation, but the demand for skilled robotics and automation professionals has outpaced the available workforce. Traditional educational programs often provide strong theory but limited exposure to real manufacturing environments.

AMP was created to bridge that gap by providing an immersive, mentor-driven learning experience that develops practical technical skills through real equipment, real projects, and experienced industry professionals.

What You’ll Learn

Over the course of the 20-week program, students receive classroom instruction and hands-on experience in:

  • Industrial robot programming and applications
  • Robot integration, startup, commissioning, and system debugging
  • Spot welding and MIG welding fundamentals
  • Weld development and quality inspection
  • Basic PLC concepts and robot-to-PLC communication
  • Industrial electrical fundamentals and troubleshooting
  • Vision systems and advanced robotic applications
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA safety practices
  • Manufacturing best practices and cycle time optimization
  • Problem-solving in real production environments

Students also gain experience commissioning a fully automated manufacturing cell, including equipment setup, robot programming, welding system configuration, debugging, optimization, and decommissioning.

Learn From Industry Professionals

Classroom learning is only part of the experience.

Each participant works alongside experienced robotics, controls, and joining specialists, gaining valuable insight into real customer projects and industry best practices. This mentorship allows students to reinforce classroom concepts while learning how automation professionals solve problems in the field.

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for motivated individuals who enjoy solving problems, working with technology, and learning new skills. Prior experience in robotics or automation is not required.

Successful candidates are dependable, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in industrial automation.

Following graduation, participants transition into R&E’s Robotics Field Service team, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy travel, hands-on work, and continuously learning new technologies.
